KAPOW at the School of Interactive Media introduces a graphic environment, where occupants become the comic characters, creating their own story. At the School of Interactive Media, college is the next chapter and KAPOW aims to celebrate that big milestone through the process of story-telling.
Throughout the design, the comic frame motif is manipulated, exposed, and deconstructed in various styles to bring the occupants into the comic cell. KAPOW connects back to the roots of journalism by focusing on primary printing colors: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK).
The bold, playful space encourages occupants to collaborate and celebrate the graphic qualities of different the majors and professions. The design serves as a backdrop for the creative work produced amongst students and employees.
